Summer fête season has once again brought residents, families, friends, staff, and local Sussex communities together across South Coast Nursing Homes.

From tropical garden parties and country-themed celebrations to vital fundraising events, each occasion provided valuable opportunities for our residents to spend quality time with loved ones, strengthen connections with the wider community, and create lasting memories.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, performed, and helped organise these wonderful events. Your generosity and community spirit made every single day truly memorable.

Abundant Grace (Seaford)

Abundant Grace brought Caribbean sunshine to Seaford with a vibrant, paradise-themed Summer Garden Party. Residents and staff embraced the tropical atmosphere, enjoying delicious food, refreshing rum punch, wonderful company, and plenty of sunshine.

Blatchington Manor (Seaford)

At Blatchington Manor, residents and our dedicated Activities Team brought the magic of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life with an imaginative themed fête. The event raised an impressive £502 for Friends of Bishopstone Station (FOBS) – a local charity close to the hearts of many residents who regularly attend their community activities.

Fernbank (Worthing)

Fernbank’s Country & Western Summer Party brought together residents, relatives, and staff for an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and great company. One of the afternoon’s highlights was a special guest appearance from a “Dolly Parton” tribute artist, making the celebration unforgettable.

Pentlands (West Worthing)

Residents and families at Pentlands enjoyed a sunny summer gathering in the garden, complete with live music, a tombola, a raffle, chilled Pimm’s, and a very popular visit from an ice cream van. Alongside a fantastic afternoon of fun, the event successfully raised £520 for St Barnabas House Hospice, supporting a brilliant local charity.

Eastridge Manor’s farm-themed Summer Fête proved to be a resounding success. The joy shared throughout the day perfectly highlighted the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for care home residents to connect with their loved ones and the surrounding village community.

The Poets’ Day was filled with fantastic entertainment, delicious food, and some brilliant caricatures that brought smiles to everyone’s faces, all while raising a significant amount of money for St Barnabas Hospice.

Rookwood (Burgess Hill)

Rookwood’s much-loved Strawberry Tea Party brought residents, relatives, and neighbours together once again. With live entertainment, delicious treats, and fundraising activities, the event successfully gathered donations to support the Burgess Hill Pantry, directly helping local families in need.

Berkeley Lodge (Worthing)

Residents, families, and friends enjoyed a wonderful Carnival-themed Summer Party at Berkeley Lodge. The afternoon featured a fantastic musical performance from Carla Smith and amazing walkabout magic from the talented magician Mike, delighting guests of all ages.

Everyone enjoyed traditional carnival games, including Hook a Duck, Tin Can Alley, and Bean Bag Toss, alongside a delicious buffet and refreshing lemonade stand. It was a special day that brought our community together.
