Payroll Manager

We offer eight homes and 358 beds across East and West Sussex. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short term stays.

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join us in our Head Office in Worthing on a full time permanent basis to be responsible for providing timely and accurate payroll service to the business. You will be expected to facilitate simplification, implementation and management of HR/ Payroll systems, and drive compliant and consistent payroll practices and processes. This role comes with an attractive salary of circa £45,000 per annum depending upon experience.

Duties will include:

  • Acting as the business expert in all matters related to payroll and pensions
  • Ensuring all compensation comply with legal requirements
  • Evaluating and challenging current practice and effectively implementing change that supports improvement in the business process
  • Continually analysing process and procedures for opportunities to streamline for efficiency and utilisation of emerging tools, products and techniques
  • Clear reporting, providing accurate analytics and participation in HR projects and maintaining good, positive communication channels
  • Managing the pay review cycle including the timelines, data preparation
  • Maintaining pay and benefits benchmarking
  • Working with HR – providing analysis, tracking and identifying improvements around Labour Cost and Wages
  • Developing methods of measurement, reporting so that the HR and the Board have full visibility of the KPIs
  • Checking and auditing payroll to make sure regulations are met
  • Ensuring all policies are regularly reviewed, updated and compliant

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Strong working knowledge of HR/ Payroll System
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Payroll and HR systems
  • Experience implementing a Payroll system (desirable)

Qualifications – CIPP qualification or equivalent experience

As a Home Administrator you will support the Home Manager in all aspects of home administration. This role comes with an attractive salary of £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.

More about the role:

You will be providing administrative support to the home so that our team can focus on providing high quality care to our residents and ensure the smooth running of all administrative functions within the home. The administration duties include email and postal correspondence, handling telephone enquiries, receiving visitors, client admission and occupancy records, monitoring of Resident accounts, financial management tasks.

You will also be responsible for administration and monitoring of the Time and Attendance system and the accurate and timely processing of payroll and HR information (including new starters, changes, leavers, sickness and other absence) so that employees are paid correctly and you will manage the recruitment administration for Home based positions.

More about you:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working in an administration role in a busy environment and used to multi-tasking and prioritisation.
  • You must be confident and have strong communication skills both oral and written, along with excellent interpersonal skills to deal with residents, visitors to the home and staff.
  • You must have administration, accounts & HR experience as well as good IT skills & knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Conducting yourself in a professional manner is essential as you are generally the first point of contact both over the phone and face to face, therefore you are the representative of the home and setting the first impression.
