Catering at South Coast Nursing Homes

At South Coast Nursing Homes, we prepare all meals in our kitchens using fresh, varied and locally sourced ingredients. We strive to ensure that all of our residents continue to enjoy highly nutritious and appetising dishes either in the congenial setting of our restaurant style dining rooms or in the comfort of a resident’s bedroom.

In each of our homes, we serve three meals a day and additional snacks and drinks are available as and when requested at any time of day or night. Please see our typical daily menu below.

Mr Langton Mavuka joined South Coast Nursing Homes group in 2012 to become our company Executive Chef and works hard to ensure that the standards and quality of food are exceptional.

He is responsible for preparing all the menus for the homes utilising only the finest foods and seasonal vegetables and ensures that high standards are adopted by all our chefs to serve well presented, healthy meals, bursting with flavour and goodness.

In Chef Langton’s own words: “At South Coast Nursing Homes, we recognise that as one ages, nutritional needs and preferences will change. As our metabolism slows down, our sense of taste, likes and dislikes may also differ from when we were younger. Our food is cooked to the highest standard and we take great care to cater to the dietary requirements of everyone living in our homes

Specialised meals will be created to meet the specific nutritional needs of diabetics, those with high cholesterol or living with dysphagia. We prepare meals, pureed foods and smoothies that are not only easier to swallow but also look appealing to eat. We understand how important it is to maintain healthy levels of fluid intake and nutrition and hope that our residents will be inspired to discover a new favourite or enjoy a past pleasure prepared in a new and exciting way.

I am privileged to work with a very professional team of chefs and assistants who are all passionate about their work, friendly and willing to support me in the delivery of delicious dining.”
