South Coast Nursing Homes has strengthened its commitment to specialist dementia care with the creation of a new Dementia Non-Clinical Specialist role.
The newly developed position reflects the organisation’s ongoing focus on delivering person-centred support for residents living with dementia, while also providing guidance and reassurance for their families.
We are delighted to announce that Carys Storoszko has been appointed to the role and joins the Senior Leadership Team. Through her studies at Worcester University, an internationally recognised centre of excellence in dementia care, Carys has developed expertise in innovative approaches that support people living with dementia. Combined with her practical experience, she is well placed to lead this initiative across South Coast Nursing Homes.
In her new role, Carys will focus on enhancing residents’ wellbeing and quality of life through therapeutic, non-pharmacological approaches that promote meaningful engagement and recognise individual needs. She will also support care teams across the organisation to ensure the highest standards of dementia care are maintained.
A key aspect of the role will be supporting families throughout their loved one’s dementia journey. Carys will provide education, guidance and one-to-one support, helping families feel informed, included and connected.
