It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at White Lodge
As the nights turn colder and November turns to December, thoughts inevitably turn to Christmas and it’s no different at White Lodge, our care home in East Preston, near Littlehampton.
In preparation for this year’s yule tide festivities the home is getting involved in the local community by participating in the local church’s Christmas Tree Festival. The popular annual Festival is run by St Mary’s Church in Vicarage Lane. This year more than 40 trees have been donated by Quercus Nursery and will be sponsored and decorated by local businesses and organisations.
And White Lodge will be doing just that, which means residents and staff have been busy making decorations to adorn our tree. Determined to make it one of the best dressed trees in town, their arts and crafts know how is really coming to the fore and we can’t wait to see the final results.
All the funds raised will help to maintain the medieval church building, which is the oldest working site in the village.
Not only do events like this help keep our residents creativity skills up to scratch, they also help to make the home part of the community.
This years Christmas Tree Festival runs from 13th– 15th December at St Mary’s Church on Vicarage Lane.
Christmas Fair
The build up to festivities won’t stop there, on the 6th December the home will be holding a Christmas Fair of their own. From 10:30 am to midday there will be a raffle, cakes, crafting, Tombola and refreshments. All proceeds will go to St Barnabus.
