Abundant Grace Nursing Home Remembrance

A Personal Tribute at Our Seaford Nursing Home

This year, the Remembrance Day display organised at Abundant Grace Nursing Home holds a specific and local significance for our community in Seaford, East Sussex.

As a Nursing Home providing expert Dementia Care, Abundant Grace, part of the South Coast Nursing Homes group, uses activities like this to combine national observance with a meaningful, local tribute to a former resident.

The focal point of our setting is a large, hand-painted display positioned at the back of the room. This work features a handwritten poem alongside hand-drawn poppies. The script and the poppy illustrations create a visually unique piece of remembrance art.

The artwork gains additional resonance from the knowledge of its creator. This beautiful tribute, which forms part of our ongoing programme of meaningful activities, was completed by a former resident of Abundant Grace, whose contributions were valued by the whole community. Since this individual is no longer with us, the piece functions as a final, lasting legacy of their artistic ability.

As we look upon the vibrant colours and the poignant message, it stands as a deeply personal tribute. It is a powerful testament to the talent and creativity of our former resident and ensures their memory is integrated into our annual observance.
