Going the Extra Mile: Our Team’s 100km Challenge
At Abundant Grace Dementia Nursing Home, we see the daily impact of dementia and cancer, not just on our residents, but on the families who love them. It’s a journey that requires immense strength, patience, and specialised care.
On 23–24 May 2026, our incredible team is taking their dedication far beyond our home in Seaford. Nurse Sam, Senior Care Assistant Rita, and Nurse Rachel are participating in the Ultra Challenge: London to Brighton. This isn’t just a casual stroll; it is a gruelling 100km trek that tests physical endurance and mental fortitude.
Why are they doing it? As healthcare workers, our team sees first-hand every day just how vital professional support is for families navigating difficult health diagnoses. By taking on this monumental challenge, they are committed to ensuring those in need have the expert care they deserve.
Supporting Two Incredible Causes: Our team has chosen to dedicate their efforts to two charities that provide life-changing support:

Sam & Rita – Supporting Dementia UK: Every penny raised by Sam and Rita will go directly to Dementia UK. This charity is dedicated to providing specialised, compassionate care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, through their Admiral Nurses.

Rachel – Supporting Macmillan Cancer Support: Rachel is raising vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Her efforts will help ensure that people living with cancer have the physical and emotional support they need to face the challenges ahead.
