Hannah Barrett, Head of Fundraising wrote to say a huge thank you to everyone at South Coast Nursing Homes for helping us to make a real difference to vulnerable young people in Sussex and Surrey this Christmas.

The young people who are residents in our accommodations are either homeless or at risk of homelessness, with many coming from traumatic experiences and pasts. For many, Christmas is a difficult time that can increase feelings of isolation and loneliness. YMCA DownsLink Group want to do everything we can to support the young people in our accommodations to enjoy Christmas – not just by ensuring they have a safe space to stay, but also by ensuring they have the support and care around them to make this Christmas a happy one.

To give you an idea of how your donation could have made a difference:
  • £20 could provide a young person with a safe warm space to stay for one night
  • £46 could provide a young person in crisis with 24hrs of support
  • £80 could cover the cost of counselling for a young person for one month

The support provided by South Coast Nursing Homes will help to enable us to ensure local young people are provided with a safe space to be this Christmas. It will give them somewhere to belong and consequently somewhere where they can feel part of Christmas as whole. We will also use some of the donation to provide every one of our residents in the Worthing Foyer on Shelley Road, close to your headquarters, with a gift to open on Christmas morning.

Thank you so much for support – we couldn’t do it without you!
